Mother’s Day is right around the corner, which means that dads around the country are going to start panicking. I know my husband, like most fathers feel that this is the time to think of the most perfect gift in the world.
They will spend hours questioning friends and relatives for their idea of the perfect gift. Dads will spend an incredible amount of time online reading top ten perfect gift lists for Mother’s Day. And just when they think they have figured out the perfect gift, they will start to question if it really is as perfect as they think.
I would like to let you in on a little secret, which really shouldn’t come as a surprise…
You have already given us the perfect gift, our children. The perfect gift doesn’t come in a box, or in a card or in a gift bag. The most perfect gift in the world is the children we are raising or the children that we have already raised together.
Now, if you aren’t really sold on that sentiment and you really feel like you need a perfect something, I have an idea for you. You can easily create this handprint vase and fill it with her favorite flowers (eg: Tinted Black Roses). This is a keepsake gift that she will love for years to come.
Materials:
Glass Vase
Krylon Spray on Matte Finish
Tissue Paper
Flowers
Directions:
Step 1: Clean and dry the vase. Trace your children’s handprints on colored tissue paper and help them cut the hands out.
Step 2: Using painter’s tape wrap the top of the vase. Spray the vase with the matte finish and arrange the tissue paper hands along the bottom. Allow to dry.
Step 3: Spray on second coat and let dry. Your vase will be water resistant but not dishwasher safe.
Step 4: Remove tape. Fill with flowers and enjoy!
